Jalagungada Ganaygala
Guided Meditation in Gumbaynggirr Language
What does it feel like to slow down, listen deeply and connect with the stories held within Country?
Join Kaleesha Morris, a proud Gumbaynggirr and Kulkalgal woman, for a guided meditation inspired by Jalagungada Ganaygala, a beautiful audio-visual story shared through Common Ground’s Dreamy project.
Shared in Gumbaynggirr language on Gumbaynggirr Wajaarr, this immersive experience invites you on a journey to the coastal headland of Ganaygal, connecting you with Sea Country, ancestral stories, the night sky and the enduring relationship between people and Country.
Through Kaleesha’s guided storytelling, Gumbaynggirr language, atmospheric sounds and Dreamy’s accompanying visuals, take a moment to breathe, settle your mind and be present. This is an opportunity to experience language beyond words, through listening, imagination and connection.
Whether you're looking for a quiet moment of reflection, a way to reconnect with culture or simply an opportunity to experience Gumbaynggirr language in a different way, everyone is welcome to join us.
As part of Berimbah’s Aboriginal Languages Week 2026 Wellness Day — Gayi, Muyawa, Guganbu: Speak, Breathe, Belong — this free community session celebrates the living strength of Aboriginal languages and the stories, knowledge and connections they continue to carry across generations.
Come as you are, take a breath and share a moment of connection with language, Country and community.
